Our Groups & What We Do

From an informal get together over a cup of coffee to a walk by the river, there’s hopefully something for everyone. Suggestions for new groups are always welcome.

Make & Chat Social

It’s not about being arty …. it’s about working on a project or having a go at something you’ve always wanted to, but most importantly of all it’s about enjoying yourself in good company. 

We have use of a lovely light, warm room and the centre is fully accessible with a car park.

It’s an opportunity to have a nice couple of hours being as creative as you want to be, in a nice friendly environment.

Ideas

  make a dream-catcher
  monogram your silk French knicks               
  make a collage from ‘Homes & Gardens’ 
  bring along an orange, a banana & a teacup for a still life study! 
  bring a thing that needs alteration or mending
  crochet granny squares! Or one big blanket.
  bring patch-work, cross stitch, origami!
  bring charcoal or pencil for portraits (no nudity please !)
  bring along air-dry clay – make models
  do an acrylic painting, or a watercolour and so on…

Literally anything! All ages welcome

Book Club

A book club that meets every 6 – 8 weeks, to give busy people a chance to buy & read the book.

We meet at Blind Jacks, usually upstairs, for 2 hours midweek from 7 pm.

We select books to read between us & are also open to suggestions for specific articles, radio plays, podcast episodes etc.. 

Monday Coffee Mornings

It’s not an ‘official’ meeting so we’re using the open warm space offered by the council in the Library for a lovely little fortnightly interlude – to relax & natter.
It’s a nice quiet peaceful room – come join us in Knaresborough Library (room at back on right, near the shop)
Held fortnightly @ 11:45~13:45
It’s a chance for a nice natter & a cuppa!

Theatre Visits

Theatre visits is a space for lovely women to make contact with others who enjoy the theatre & all forms of live entertainment.

It’s an opportunity to go to theatre plays, shows, concerts etc… an opportunity to get out more, to widen your social circle, or perhaps find new friends to enjoy different performances with.

Walking Groups

The plan is to enjoy an open monthly walk/hike around Knaresborough, details of which will be posted in the Walking group chat on WhatsApp. Join us if you can!

Due to allergies to animal fur and general uneasiness with dogs there are two walking groups.

We are dog lovers but it’s important people feel healthy and safe!
